Destiny Tour – Memphis 1979 (Audio)

The concert was part of the long Destiny tour, named for The Jacksons 1978 album of the same name. By this point in the run, Michael had released his breakthrough solo masterpiece Off The Wall, which dropped in August 1979. The success of its first two singles, “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” and “Rock With You,” turned Off The Wall into a monster hit and also forced a change in the Destiny tour setlist to incorporate the two songs, both of which are featured here along with recent Jacksons hits and a taste of the group’s Motown classics.
